NEW DELHI:

Despite tensions relating to the firing on the Line of Control and other political issues, the second round of the Joint Pakistan-India business council (JPIBC) meeting is scheduled here today. A 17-member Pakistan business delegation will be participating in the meeting.

“The joint task force of Pakistan India business forum meetings on textile, agriculture products, auto and pharmaceuticals will take place,” said Manzoor Ali Memon, Press Attaché, Pakistan High Commission.

The Pakistan delegation is represented by delegates across various sectors: Syed Yawar Ali (agriculture), Bashir Ali Mohammad (textile), Abdul Razak Dawood (engineering) and Ilyas Bilour (petro).

The first round of talks was held in Islamabad in June. This council is a private sector-led body which has been notified by both the governments. From India’s side, it is co-chaired by Sunil K Munjal of Hero Corporate Service.
