Networking session: Youth seek efforts to resolve conflicts
The participants debated issues pertaining to rule of law, education, livelihood and social justice.
Youth representatives and public officials from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas discussed collaborative approaches for resolving conflicts in their communities at a four-day networking session which concluded on Wednesday in Peshawar.
According to a press release issued, the session was organised by Search for Common Ground (SFCG) Pakistan in collaboration with PAIMAN Alumni Trust (PAIMAN) to provide youth with a platform to connect and interact with policymakers and to build their capacities in mediation and dialogue in order to find ways to effectively resolve conflicts at community levels.
The participants comprising 28 youth representatives, government officials and various political party members debated issues pertaining to rule of law, education, livelihood and social justice. They also formulated recommendations for policymakers in order to build peace in their localities. The networking session was part of SFCG Pakistan’s EU funded project titled ‘Promoting Peace in K-P and FATA – Connecting Youth and Policymakers through Mediation and Dialogue.’
