PESHAWAR:
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker Javed Nasim does not want a seat in the treasury benches due to disagreements over some of the government’s decisions. However, he does not want to sit in the opposition either.
Nasim told The Express Tribune he has submitted an application to the assembly speaker asking for a ‘separate’ seat in the house. “My seat will be in between the government and opposition,” he said.
Nasim’s name was also among the 32 parliamentary secretaries appointed by the government earlier in September. However, when asked if he would resign from that post, Nasim insisted he was not a parliamentary secretary in the first place. Nasim cited transfer of honest officials despite his recommendations as a reason for his application for a separate seat.
