LAHORE: The second Made-in-India show will be held in February 2014 at the Expo Centre in Lahore and could feature as many as 95 leading Indian companies showcasing their products ranging from industrial machinery, pharmaceutical goods, gems, jewellery and consumer items.

Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) is holding the show in collaboration with the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP).

The FICCI Director for Arab and South Asia Gautam Gosh made the announcement while leading a five-member delegation in a meeting with LCCI President Engineer Sohail Lashari in Lahore on Tuesday.

The Lahore Chamber's Senior Vice President Mian Tariq Misbah, Vice President Kashif Anwar, former Vice President Aftab Ahmad Vohra, Executive Committee Member Muhammad Haroon and former Executive Committee Member Rehmatullah Javaid also spoke on the occasion.

Gosh said there would be two components of the show - the first segment, where 95 Indian companies would showcase their products and the second important segment, which would be a CEOs Conference.

The incoming FICCI President would also be visiting Pakistan along with a 55-member strong CEOs delegation for the conference.

"The very objective of the CEOs Conference is to bring the businessmen of the two countries further closer, as it will be a B2B (business to business) activity between Pakistan-India businessmen," he elaborated.

LCCI's Lashari assured the FICCI team that a special committee comprising LCCI Executive Committee Members will be formed to coordinate with the FICCI to make this exhibition a success.

Lashari added that the LCCI would also ask all the SAARC countries to arrange such events in Pakistan to further cement trade ties.

The LCCI president hoped that governments of Pakistan and India would back the private sector initiatives aimed at promotion of trade.

He further stated that the Pakistani business community would also hold a similar event in India soon to reciprocate the efforts of their counterparts.

@Concerned: In Delhi's one of the most posh area, 9000sq feet of space has been given to PFDC, where they work and sell 365 days!!! If one had to purchase that land, it would come down to some 400-600 crore INR. Do that maths. 1USD=60INR It has been given on a token amount of Rs.99/- per year

@Concerned: What will you showcase? we already have fertilizers, Shawls, Carpets and medical equipment. Boosting trade is what India needs. You will have to buy it or trade with Afghanistan and Iran. Afghanistan has already closed the border with you, the Iran pipeline will not come to fruition due to Pakistan's submissive behavior to the Americans. Pakistans only option is India. We trade for money. Whats wrong in trade? maybe even Power can be exported.
