The provincial government has imposed a ban on collecting the hides of sacrificial animals during Eidul Azha and a strict action would be taken against violators, according to a code of conduct issued on Monday.
The provincial government has issued a code of conduct for collection of hides of sacrificial animals on the three days of Eidul Azha after a meeting chaired by additional chief secretary Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah. The meeting reviewed its arrangements and security, according to an official statement.
The commissioner Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui, AIG Shahid Hayat, deputy commissioners, DIGs and Rangers officials attended the meeting. According to the code of conduct, only registered political, religious parties, non-governmental organisations and religious seminaries are allowed to collect the sacrificial animals and door-to-door collection of hides is also banned, while no one would be allowed to set up camps to collect the hides. As per the code of conduct, the process of donating hides would be on a voluntary basis and no one would be allowed to use force to collect the hides. The government also imposed a ban on the use of loudspeaker to collect hides. The government would provide security to the organisation shifting the hides.
