Tennis: Ali, Sheikh clinch U14 doubles title

Pakistan’s Sahibzada Muhammad Ali and Haris Sheikh won the doubles trophy of the Asian Super Series U14 Ranking Tennis Championship in Dhaka. The duo defeated local players Mohammad Rubeel and Muhammad Kawsar 6-7, 7-6, 10-5 in the final.
Meanwhile, Ali was not as lucky in his boys’ singles event. He lost 6-3, 6-4 to Rubeel in the final of the tournament.
The players will return to Karachi today.
“It is a great achievement and Ali has the potential to be among the top 10 U14 players in Asia by the end of this year,” the vice-president of the Pakistan Tennis Federation Khalid Rehman told The Express Tribune.
