KARACHI:
Muslim FC registered their second win in the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) season when they defeated Afghan FC 1-0 in Karachi yesterday.

Muslim FC, who finished third last season behind KRL and KESC, started slowly, playing out a goalless first-half.

Both Chaman-based clubs fought tooth and nail to create goal-scoring opportunities, however, it was Muslim FC’s Hayatullah who clinched the winner in the 68th minute of the match.

With the win, Muslim FC replaced Navy in ninth position with seven points after playing four matches.

It was Afghan FC’s second defeat in two days after they had lost to Baloch FC on Saturday.

“Afghan FC seemed exhausted towards the end of the match,” a match official told The Express Tribune.

They have now played five matches, winning just one, drawing two and losing one. They remained in 11th position in the league.
