Sindh holding trials for women’s championship
Provincial teams, clubs to take part in national event.
KARACHI:
The Sindh Football Association will begin preparations for the national Women Championship as trials for the Sindh team take place tomorrow at the People’s Stadium, Karachi.
The 13-day event will start from October 22 in Islamabad and will feature provincial and club teams from all over the country.
Saadia Shaikh, the coach and manager of Sindh, said that last year at least 40 girls from Karachi and interior Sindh had participated in the trials.
“These trials are for the Sindh team and they are open to all,” Shaikh told The Express Tribune. “Any player who is interested should show up for the trials. Hopefully we will get good players. I’m also preparing my other team Diya FC, so there will be the provincial squad and another club team from Sindh.”
