Hold regular camps for goalkeepers: Shahid
Olympian Shahid Ali Khan urges the PHF to hold regular goalkeeping camps to produce candidates for teams.
KARACHI:
Olympian Shahid Ali Khan has urged the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) to hold regular goalkeeping camps in order to produce enough candidates for the junior and senior teams.
The former Pakistan coach started training 16 attendees at a goalkeeping camp - aged 14 to 20 - and will shortlist 10 who will join the national junior squad.
“I would have to repeat everything that we did in the first session due to the gap,” Khan told The Express Tribune. “The academy couldn’t hold the camp due to various reasons. Most of them don’t have the facilities to practice so I’d urge the PHF to keep the camp going round the year.”
