Case registered: NGO worker kidnapped from Quetta

Sources said that it is a case of kidnapping for ransom.

QUETTA: A project coordinator of a nongovernmental organisation was kidnapped on Friday from the railway housing society area of the Balochistan capital. Police said that victim Noor Mohammad, project coordinator for an international programme, was on his way to office when unknown armed men intercepted his car at gunpoint to hold him hostage. He was later taken to an unknown location, they added. As per details, the kidnappers abandoned the car and laptop at the scene. A large number of Frontier Corps and police personnel rushed to the spot and started the search for the victim. Sources said that it is a case of kidnapping for ransom. Meanwhile, a case has been registered against unknown persons and an investigation is under way.
