FAISALABAD:

District Coordination Officer Najam Shah on Thursday asked a visiting team of experts from Finland for suggestions on turning the old campus of University of Agriculture, Faisalabad into a model museum.

He was speaking at a meeting chaired by UAF Vice Chancellor Iqrar Ahmad Khan at the Syndicate Room.

“Museums help promote and preserve cultural heritage,” Shah said. He requested the experts to prepare a report.

“The historical background of the old campus and the importance of Sandal Bar civilisation cannot be ignored,” he said. UAF VC Iqrar Ahmad Khan said the old campus was built in 1906. The city had no system of canals back then, he said.

Khan said he would fully support the district government’s project.
