
At least 10 people, including two workers of the Awami National Party and a police official, were killed in separate acts of violence on Wednesday.
The president of ANP’s Pehlwan Goth ward, Mashwar Bangash, was shot dead along with his companion, Waheed Khan, in the Cantt Bazaar vicinity of Sharae Faisal.
The incident took place when the men were returning from a funeral in Natha Khan Goth. Bangash’s car was attacked by four assailants. The bodies were shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for autopsy and later handed over to their families. Following the incident, ANP leaders and workers demanded the law enforcers to arrest the culprits behind the incident.

Separately, a police constable, 43-year-old Ghulam Abbas, was shot dead in SITE. The deceased was deployed at the SITE B Section police station and had left the station for some work when two armed men, riding a motorcycle, shot him at least six times, killing him on the spot.
An activist of Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi was shot dead inside his house in Lines Area. The deceased was identified as Adil, 30.
Shahid Bashir, 28, was killed and his mother, Maryam Bibi, was wounded by unidentified persons who entered their house in Macchar Colony, Docks.
A young man’s body, bearing torture marks, was found near Mewa Shah graveyard.
A woman, 35-year-old Sahira, and a man, Jamal Naseer Shah, were shot dead inside her house in Block-D, North Nazimabad. Police officials said that the woman’s husband, Azhar, along with his brothers shot them for having illicit relations. The suspect and his brothers managed to escape.
In Sohrab Goth, an elderly man, Anwar Hussain, was stabbed to death. DSP Khalid Khan said that the man had sustained injuries to his neck and died shortly after the incident. Also in Sohrab Goth, another man, Bari Dad, 52, was allegedly killed by his neighbour, Naib Ghulam Khan. DSP Khalid Khan said that the accused and deceased had argued over selling sacrificial animals on the road.
