The renewed threat by ethnic Baloch rebels adds a layer of complexity for relief efforts in the earthquake hit regions of the province.
Balochistan has seen a spate of attacks since a major earthquake last week which rebels say prompted the army to send troops to remote areas under the guise of aid delivery.
"They (army) are directly involved in the large-scale killings of Baloch men," alleged Allah Nazar, head of the Baloch Liberation Front, told Reuters by telephone from a secret location in Balochistan.
"They want to crush us and make money from the disaster relief."
Some estimates say more than 500 people died in the September 24 earthquake in a remote part of Balochistan serving as a stronghold for insurgents and where security forces have almost no presence.
The rebels, who have killed many civilians and members of the security forces, are fighting for independence from Pakistan. They accuse the central government of stealing the province's rich mineral deposits and the security forces of widespread human rights abuses.
The army denies involvement in any killings.
"We are there to provide relief for the local people. We will continue the relief work for our Baloch brethren even if attacks continue," said Major General Samrez Salik, who oversees the relief operations.
On Wednesday, two soldiers were killed in a roadside bomb near Awaran, a town near the quake epicentre. The military said they were there to distribute humanitarian aid.
Army units came under fire in five separate incidents throughout the day. Last week, two rockets narrowly missed a military helicopter and there have been several attacks on convoys carrying aid.
"We claim responsibility for Wednesday morning attack on troops near Mashkay. We will step up such attacks in coming days," said Nazar. "We cannot expect relief from the helicopters which routinely fire rockets at our villages."

@Hasan: seriously dude? have you even been to balochistan? just visit it once and see for yourself what your favourite BLA is upto against the people of balochistan..
Face the facts here , that Pak Army is well overrated and is simply incapable of dealing with its own internal mess, namely NW and the above mentioned ,,yet that chew up a bulk of nation's budget in name of defence ! The real fools are those who actually believe them and don't even question them or ask for accountability ! While the Nation suffers from mother of all crises on all fronts !
@Concerned: Even if it is not mentioned in this article, but we all know that BLA received funds and support from India
Where is the Proof ?
@B: Even if it is not mentioned in this article, but we all know that BLA received funds and support from India.
An all out war against terrorist must be carried out by the state to flush out all kinds of terrorists including handful of baluch terrorist, taliban, lashkar groups and an anti minorities groups. The soft approach and dialogue will not work anymore.
@Queen: Did you read the article? It says: "Balochistan has seen a spate of attacks since a major earthquake last week which rebels say prompted the army to send troops to remote areas under the guise of aid delivery". As India is mentioned, could you please provide ANY link to a website that says so. If not stop your foul hot air.

I hope CJ is paying attention to soldiers killings and won't question if forces retaliate and kill those criminals who have killed helping harmless jawans.
Yet All political parties are agreed to have a peace process with BLA terrorist & Baloch Separatist.
Than what will happen? The earth quake effectee would suffer more.
We stand with our Army. Let the mad head traitors play their game. Our Nation is united. These separatists will be defeated Insha Allah
It seems that Baloch separatists cannot see people of Balochistan praising Pakistan Army for its relief operations. The BLA should stop taking dictation from India.
Its high time our govt and our army listen to the plight of these people forcibly occupied by our army, and historically denied all promises made by jinnah.. let peace and freedom prevail for the poor people in Baloch Land..
