PESHAWAR:
The Peshawar High Court Bar Association (PHCBA) on Monday condemned the terror attacks on All Saints’ Church, Civil Secretariat bus and Qissa Khwani Bazaar, demanding the government to immediately initiate dialogue with militants as approved in the all-parties conference.
Addressing the lawyers, PHCBA President Ishtiaq Ibrahim said the government should take concrete steps for restoration of peace in the region because there is a sense of insecurity everywhere in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
“If the government is planning to hold peace talks, which was decided in the all-parties conference, then they should start as soon as possible to stop any more bloodshed in the region.
The recent blasts have once again reminded the government to heighten security,” he added.
The lawyers also prayed for the blast victims. About 144 people have lost their lives in the terrorist attacks in the last eight days.
