Psic Salaries: LHC suspends ombudsman’s order
The court suspended ombudsman’s order and sought replies from the respondents.
LAHORE:
The Lahore High Court on Monday suspended the ombudsman’s order stopping release of the Punjab Small Industries Corporation (PSIC) employees’ monthly salaries. The petitioners contended that the PSIC had not been paying two former employees their pensions, upon which they had approached the ombudsman seeking redress. The ombudsman ordered the salaries of all PSIC employees stopped, which was illegal and unconstitutional, the petitioners said. After hearing the initial arguments on the petition filed by PSIC employees, the court suspended ombudsman’s order and sought replies from the respondents.
