Abbas hands WAPDA 4th win of season

Four-time champions Wapda defeated debutants Lyallpur FC 1-0 in the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) at the Model Town Football Ground in Lahore yesterday.
Both teams played a goalless first-half, with Wapda’s Waseem Abbas scoring the winner in the 52nd minute.
This was Wapda’s fourth win of the season and they maintain their second position with 16 points behind leaders KESC.
“My team is doing well and it will pick up the pace in the following few weeks,” Wapda coach Khalid Butt told The Express Tribune. “This season is about getting back among the top clubs since we didn’t do too well last time.”
Meanwhile, Pak-Afghan Clearing Agency (PACA) drew against Baloch FC 1-1. Baloch FC’s Fazal Mohammad scored the opener in the 66th minute, while PACA’s Nizamuddin struck an equaliser in the 71st.
In today’s fixture, Navy will face KESC at the KPT Stadium.
