Floods: 26 villages inundated in Shujabad
Areas where more than 50 per cent of the crops were inundated might be declared calamity-hit

Assistant Commissioner Arshad Tiwana on Saturday said 26 villages of Shujabad tehsil were affected in the recent floods.
Talking to newsmen, he said over 50 per cent crops had been destroyed in 15 villages in the tehsil. He said rehabilitation of flood victims had been completed and a report had been sent to the government.
He said areas where more than 50 per cent of the crops were inundated might be declared calamity-hit. He said calamity-hit farmers are exempt from revenue payments and get subsidised seed. He said the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) would independently assess flood losses to address grievances of the people.
