Nearly 30 residents of Chak 4BC near Dera Bhaka protested on Friday against police for failing to recover Muhammad Hussain, a prayer leader, after he was taken away from the mosque by the Elite Force personnel on Thursday.
Umar Ehsan, Hussain’s father, told newsmen that the prayer leader had been taken away by the Elite Force personnel on Thursday afternoon. He said the officials had arrived in two Elite Force vehicles and a white car driven by an official in plainclothes.
He said Hussain was blindfolded and taken away.
He appealed to the chief justice to take notice of the incident. Speaking to The Express Tribune, Bahawalpur DPO’s Public Relations Officer Rehan Gillani denied arrest by police. He also said the family had not lodged a missing person complaint. He said the police would cooperate with them if they filed a formal complaint.
