Dejection: 3 commit suicide, 9 in the hospital for attempting to do so

A woman committed suicide on Thursday by hanging herself after doctor declared her a terminal patient.

Three people committed suicide and nine attempted to end their lives in separate incidents in the district on Thursday and Friday, Police spokesman Aamir Waheed told media on Friday. 


A woman from Chak 97-RB had chronic liver disease, he said. He said doctors had declared her a terminal patient. She committed suicide on Thursday by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her house, he said.

A resident of Chak 72-RB Gaddian, and a resident of Bismillah Chowk Jhang Road committed suicide by swallowing poisonous pills in separate incidents following domestic disputes, he said. A resident of Muhammad Abad; a woman from Sir Syed Town; a woman from Chak 320-GB; A resident of Nishatabad; A woman from Kaleem Shaheed Colony; A man from Bawa Chak; A resident of Chak 208-RB; and a resident of Bismillah Park tried to committee suicide but were found out and taken to hospital, Waheed said.
