Pakistani Facebook users cross 10m mark

Pakistani users of the social networking website Facebook have crossed 10 million, according to Facebook Ads Manager – the site’s marketing tool.

Pakistani users of Facebook number between 10.6 to 11.8 million, of which 7.4 to 8.2 million are men while 3 to 3.4 million are women.

The marketing tool cites that around 2.3 to 2.5 million are listed as single, of which approximately 1.7 to 1.8 million are men and the remaining are women. However, there are around 1 to 1.2 million people who are listed as either married, engaged or in a relationship.

Half of the users from Pakistan age between 18 and 24 – a clear indication that the social networking site is mostly used by the youth.

Meanwhile, a June 2013 report by a mobile survey company – Ansr.io – states that more than half of Pakistan’s Facebook users belong to the nation’s richest households.
