ECP summons all provinces’ meeting on local govt polls on Oct 3
Among others‚ the meeting at the Election Commission of Pakistan will discuss the election schedule

Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday scheduled a meeting in early October with concerned government officials of all provinces and Islamabad territory for the up coming local body elections, Radio Pakistan reported.
According to the letter issued, the Secretary Interior‚ all provincial Chief Secretaries‚ Chairman NADRA‚ all Secretaries of the Local Government and the Chief Commissioner Islamabad have been summoned to attend an all provinces’ meeting on Local Government Elections on October 3 at the ECP office Islamabad.
The meeting’s agenda includes the latest status of local government laws and rules‚ party basis or non-party basis elections and its implications‚ delimitations‚ uniformity in laws‚ updating electoral rolls‚ issuance of schedule‚ appointment of Returning Officers‚ finalisations of the election symbols ‚date of polling ‚security‚ election and appellate tribunals‚ and voters awareness programme.
The meeting will be chaired by Acting Chief Election Commissioner Tassadaq Gillani.
