Pointing fingers: JI sees ‘foreign hand’ behind attack

JI Sec Gen Liaqat Baloch termed twin blasts an act by forces were bent upon destroying Pakistan's image in the world.

ISLAMABAD:
Foreign hand was involved in the Peshawar incident, said Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Secretary General Liaqat Baloch, as he termed the twin suicide blasts an act by those forces that were bent upon destroying Pakistan's image in the world. Speaking to reporters after offering condolences at Fatimah church here, the JI secretary general said the government's 100-day performance has been a complete failure. "It was an attack not on the minority, but on the majority that was responsible for providing them security," said Baloch. He pointed out that Chinese tourists were attacked when the prime minister was going on China’s visit. Now the Christian community was targeted right at the time the premier was leaving for United States to attend UN General Assembly meeting. "It becomes quite evident which forces benefit from such attacks.” He added that the national leadership, at this juncture, should make decisions keeping in view the public sentiment.
