Results announced: 1,040 marks a new high in Multan board

52.29 per cent students pass in Multan, 63 per cent in DG Khan.

Farheen Fatima of City College has scored 1,040 marks out of 1,100 setting a new record for the board.


As many as 50,593 students sat the intermediate examinations this year. The pass percentage was 52.29.

Muhammad Nafees Razzaq of Muslim Public Higher Secondary School came second with 1,039 marks and Abu Bakar Naeem of KIPS College for Boys, Multan third with 1,038 marks.

Minister for Prisons Abdul Waheed Araeen presided over the prize distribution ceremony. Fatima was given a desktop computer and Rs20,000.

In Dera Ghazi Khan, as many as 30,619 students sat the examinations. Of these, 19,277 passed. Javeria Manzoor of Punjab College, Kot Addu, stood first with 1,027 marks; Zehra Hasan of Zakariya Higher Secondary School, Layyah, second with 1,026 marks and Muhammad Basit of Rashid Minhas Higher Secondary School, Alipur third with 1,023 marks.

The prize distribution ceremony was presided here on Monday by MPA Chaudhry Muhammad Shafiq.

1,031 highest marks in Gujranwala board

Lababa Mukhtar of Superior College for Women, Sialkot, stood first in the Gujranwala Board with 1,031 marks. Hafiza Aniqa Mehmood of Punjab College for Women second with 1,021 marks and Hassan bin Zaid of Quaid-i-Azam Public College for Boys third with 1,020 marks.

In pre-medical group (boys), Hassan bin Zia was first, Talha Arif and Hamza Malik second with 1,018 marks and Ahmad Hassan Chattha third with 1,016 marks. In pre-medical girls group (girls), Lababa Mukhtar was first, Hafiza Aniqa Mehmood second and Sahar Shakeel third with 1,019 marks.

In pre-engineering group (boys), Taimoor Mughal got the first position with 1,017 marks, Hamza Ali Joya second with 1,008 marks and Adil Tariq third with 1,000 marks. In pre-engineering group (girls), Zahra Sarfaraz stood first with 1,007 marks, Ayesha Siddiqa second with 1,005 marks and Ameena Bibi third with 1,004 marks.

In humanities group (boys), Ishtiaq Ahmad was first with 947 marks, Zeeshan Basheer second with 892 marks and Muhammad Samiullah third with 885 marks. In humanities group (girls), Mubeena Aslam was first with 946 marks, Ameena Yaqoob second with 944 marks and Ameena Batool third with 936 marks.
