HSSC result: Boys clinch top two positions

In pre-med group, girls dominate.

Out of the three top positions in the higher secondary school certificate (HSSC) FA/FSc annual examination, the first and third positions were bagged by boys while the second was clinched by a girl.


The result of the examinations held under the Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (RBISE) was announced on Monday.

In the pre-engineering group, all three positions were bagged by students of the Punjab College of Information Technology, Rawalpindi.

They included Sheikh Hassan Tanveer, who clinched the first position by securing 1015 marks, Iqra Noor, who bagged the second position by obtaining 1012 marks and Ahmed Shaheer, who got the third position by bagging 1011 marks.

In pre-medical group, Rida Batool from the Kallar Kahar Science College for Girls, Chakwal got the first position with 1009 marks, Moazama Khan from the Punjab College of Information Technology for Girls, Rawalpindi, clinched the second position with 1007 marks while Amina Bibi from Kallar Kahar Science College for Girls Chakwal got the third position with 1001 marks.

In the humanities group for girls, Syeda Rida Zainab from the Government College for Women Gujar Khan got the first position with 935 marks, Nimra Waheed from village Thanil Kamal, District Chakwal secured second position with 920 marks while Javeria Irfan from the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Mari Danishman Dan, got the third position with 916 marks.

In the humanities group for boys, Khuzaima Jabaroot from the Government Gordon College Rawalpindi got the first position with 897 marks.

In science general group for girls, Sumaiya Sarfaraz from the Punjab College of Information Technology for Girls clinched the first position with 991 marks.

In science general group for boys, Arslan Arshad from the Military College Jhelum got the first position with 985 marks.

In the commerce group for girls, Sidra Murad from the Jinnah Institute of Informatics for Girls, Rawalpindi bagged the first position with 992 marks.

A total of 59,314 candidates appeared in the exam out of whom 32,475 were declared successful with a total pass percentage of 54.98 per cent. Of the total students, 24,948 were male while 34,366 were female. The overall pass percentage of male students remained 47.16 while pass percentage of female students remained 60.64 per cent.

A total of 908 students got A-1 grade, 2,733 got A-grade, 7,121 students got B-grade while 12,606 students were placed in the C-grade.
