Tennis: Pakistan finish 3rd in junior event
This is Pakistan’s first appearance in the league.
KARACHI:
Pakistan defeated Singapore 4-3 to finish third in the International Club Junior Tennis Asia-Oceania Championship in Tokyo yesterday.
This was Pakistan’s first appearance in the league. The team began its campaign with a 4-2 loss against Australia. They were also defeated by Japan 6-0.
Pakistan’s contingent included Ibrahim Iltifat, Raza Sawani, Nazif Ahmed and Hassan Farooq who were accompanied by manager Khalid Rahmani.
The team will now travel to Thailand to play friendly matches. They will play four singles and one doubles match at the Asian Tennis Centre in Bangkok.
