National Assembly unanimous in condemning Peshawar blasts
Implication of the attack on Taliban talks also discussed.

ISLAMABAD:
The National Assembly in a session on Monday unanimously adopted a resolution condemning the attack on All Saints church in Peshawar, Express News reported.
The resolution further stated that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led government in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa should step up security to ensure safety at religious sites.
The resolution stated that once arrested, the militants should be handed out the strictest punishment.
The implication of the attack on the talks with Taliban was also discussed in the assembly session.
The session will now re-convene on Tuesday at 10 am.
Over 80 people were killed and 150 others injured in the twin suicide bombing that took place outside the All Saints church after Sunday mass came to an end. The bombing is believed to be the country’s deadliest attack on Christians.

At the end of the All Parties Conference held on September 9, political parties had agreed to pursuing dialogue with the militants as a way to counter terrorism.
However, shortly after the attack Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in London had said on Sunday that the government was “unable to proceed further” with talks in the wake of the church attack.
PTI chairman Imran Khan and Jamiat ulema Ilami- Fazl (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman have said that the attack could have been carried out by someone who wants to influence the APC resolution.
