Social pressures: Boy, two women attempt suicide

Police said he had been jobless and had had an exchange of harsh words with his family on Saturday.

A youth and two women tried to commit suicide on Sunday by taking poison used to curb rodent infestations of wheat.



Police said in two separate incidents, *Tayyaba, a resident of Buddha Goraya, and *Ayesha, a resident of Pasroor, took poison over arguments with their families. Police said the women were taken to Civil Hospital where their condition was later reported to be critical. *Aamir, a resident of Awami Road, also attempted suicide by taking poison. Police said he had been jobless and had had an exchange of harsh words with his family on Saturday. Police said he was taken to a hospital where his condition was later reported to be “out of danger.”
