New beginnings: Justice Baqar sworn in as new SHC CJ

Justice Maqbool Baqar took oath as chief justice of the Sindh High Court on Friday.
Acting governor Agha Siraj Durrani administered the oath to him at a ceremony held on the SHC premises under tight security arrangements.
Justice Baqar had joined the office a couple of days ago. He was recovering from the injuries he sustained after narrowly escaping a bomb blast at his convoy on June 26.
The 56-year-old judge has become the 22nd chief justice of the provincial high court. Initially, he was elevated as an additional judge to the high court on August 26, 2002, and confirmed on August 26, 2003.
