In Karachi, KESC had to work hard to edge past KPT 2-1 after a goalless first-half.
Last year’s runners-ups took the lead through a penalty-kick in the 65th minute, but KPT’s Naveed Ahmed equalised ten minutes later.
KPT were given a chance to go in front in the 80th minute but striker Akhtar Mamool missed a penalty. It proved costly as KESC’s Sohail Nawaz scored a late winner to seal the three points and their third win of the season.
Wapda are currently top of the league with 12 points after six matches followed by KESC with 11 points after five matches.
