ISLAMABAD:

Around 40,906 domestic servants working in the capital have been registered by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) during a door-to-door campaign. However, NADRA teams faced refusals from 19,154 individuals who did not provide any information about their servants.

According to a press release issued on Thursday, following directives from the Ministry of Interior, NADRA, in collaboration with the Capital Development Authority (CDA), completed the collection of data on servants working and living in the settled areas of Islamabad.

During the registration process, it was revealed that a large number of migrants throng the capital looking for jobs and there is no record of them with any government department. Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan ordered the registration of domestic servants in the backdrop of the prevailing law and order situation in the country.

After collecting details of 40,906 domestic servants, NADRA has digitised the information and stored it in its database. Khan took notice of the fact that some people refused to share information with NADRA teams and directed the Islamabad Police to obtain the details and submit them to NADRA.
