Call for justice: Women MPs condemn rape incident

Members of the Women’s Parliamentary Caucus have strongly condemned the rape of a 5-year-old girl in Lahore last week and urged the authorities and the judiciary to ensure that culprits are immediately arrested and prosecuted, according to a press release. They demanded that the accused should be strictly punished to provide justice to the innocent victim and their family, and called for curbing such incidents in future as the mindset was destroying the basic foundation of the society.The parliamentarians urged for an effective methodology to engage the civil society, media and the parliamentarians to create public awareness on such issues.
