Justice served: ATC sentences kidnappers to death

SWAT: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) judge in Mingora on Tuesday sentenced two men to death three times and fined them Rs1.5 million each over kidnapping and murder charges. According to a Rahimabad police official, Alam Khan and Bashir Ahmed kidnapped six-year-old Ahmad for ransom on July 5, 2012. Rasheed Ahmad, the boy’s father, filed a case with the police stating both the accused had demanded Rs6.5 million. However, after 75 days of unsuccessful negotiations between Ahmad and the kidnappers, they killed the child and threw his body in a well. The culprits were later captured and put behind bars. The official added ATC Swat Judge Shoaib Khan has sentenced both kidnappers to death three times and fined them Rs1.5 million each. Meanwhile, another accused, Umarin, was set free.
