KARACHI:
Last year’s runners-up KESC continued with their unbeaten run in the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) as they drew against NBP 1-1 at the KPT Stadium in Karachi yesterday.
After a goalless first-half, NBP broke the deadlock through Ali Abbas, only for KESC’s Sohail Nawaz to score the equaliser. The result extended both the sides’ unbeaten run this season.
“We played well and again my team scored just three minutes before the final whistle,” KESC coach Akbar Ali told The Express Tribune. “We haven’t lost any match in the league yet and NBP were the toughest competitors we’ve played so far. And with this, I’ve told my players that losing is not an option for them.”
With the draw, NBP continue to lead the table with 10 points after four matches, while KESC moved to third place with eight points, next to Wapda who are second with nine points. Earlier, Wapda drew with ZTBL in a goalless match at the Railway Stadium in Lahore.
