Show cause notice: Forensic Lab director summoned
Complainant said that her father-in-law had threatened to kill the children if she continued to try to meet them.

An additional district and sessions judge on Monday issued a summons for the Forensic Laboratory director by September 24 for failing to submit the DNA report of a murdered girl. The court had granted pre-arrest bails to the accused and directed the director of the Forensic Laboratory to submit DNA report of the deceased by September 14. On Monday, the court issued him a show cause notice and summoned him by September 24. Complainant Saima Naseer had said she married Bashir Ahmed 12 years ago and they had five children. She said she and her husband had later separated and he kept had the children. She said that her father-in-law had threatened to kill the children if she continued to try to meet them. She told the court that on March 3, 2013, she heard that her daughter, Iqra, 8, had died. She said when visited her husband’s house, she saw that her daughter’s face was blue, as if she had been strangled. She nominated her father-in-law Nazir Ahmed, brother-in-law Saleem Ahmed, her husband Bashir Ahmed and her mother-in-law Azra Bibi as the accused in the FIR.
