LAHORE:
The Lahore High Court (LHC) ordered on Monday that line losses and Fuel Adjustment Charges (FAC) will not be collected or included in bills until October 4, Express News reported.
The court asked about the provision of the law under which these charges are being made and enquired about how they are collected.
The LHC on August 28 had granted a stay to four companies against the recovery of fuel adjustment surcharge in electricity bills.
The court had also sought replies from the Pakistan Electric Power Company, Wapda, the National Transmission and Despatch Company and distribution companies by September 16 on petitions filed by the Flying Cement Company and others.
In June, the Peshawar High Court (PHC) stopped Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) from collecting FACs in electricity bills and extended its stay order till September 10.
