KARACHI:

To keep a check on fake guarantors and surety providers, the first-ever ‘identity and verification section’ will formally be inaugurated by the chief justice of Pakistan, Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, in the Malir district and sessions court today.

The ‘identity and verification section’ would be the first-of-its-kind across the country to provide speedy justice to the litigants, who otherwise encounter a lengthy process to get clearance of documents submitted in the court. “Litigants will get clearance of their documents in just 10 to 15 minutes,” said the Malir Bar Association president, Muhammad Ashraf Samoo. “Prisoners will no longer have to spend a day or two in the prison awaiting verification of documents.”

Samoo said that the district and sessions courts, Malir, had been chosen as a ‘model district’ and soon the system would be introduced in other districts of the city as well as the province.
