BAHAWALPUR:

MPA Syed Wasim Akhtar said on Saturday that inflation, unemployment and load shedding had made people miserable.

He said there was no end in sight to the difficulties faced by the common man. He said corruption was rampant in Pakistan Railways, Pakistan International Airlines and Federal Board of Revenue.

He said prices of essential commodities had risen by almost 35 per cent in the three months. He said if a proper taxation system were established, the country would not foreign loans.

He said the government had accepted harsh terms for the IMF loan. He said this had pushed up the prices of electricity, natural gas and petroleum. He said it was ironic that loans were being taken to pay interest. He said PML-N’s performance had disappointed its voters. He said corruption was holding back progress. He regretted that a new NAB chairman had not been appointed.
