KARACHI:

HBL stunned KESC with a 1-1 draw to finally collect a point in the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) season from their fourth match played in Karachi yesterday.

HBL, who have lost all their previous three matches, shocked KESC with an early goal through Muhammad Saeed in the second minute.

HBL led 1-0 at the interval, but failed to contain KESC in the second-half, when striker Muhammad Rasool scored an equaliser in the 60th minute.

KESC are touted as one of the strongest teams among 16 clubs in the league. According to their coach Akbar Ali, the team will aim at wining the trophy this year.

“The PPFL title has eluded us for three years now, we’ve been finishing the league as runners-up but it will change this season,” Ali told The Express Tribune.

With the result, KESC have nine points after three matches.

Meanwhile, the side is still waiting for the interior ministry to issue the visa for a Nigerian striker they roped in for the current season.
