CNG stations to stay shut for four days in a week
CNG closures will occur for two periods of 48 hours each in all parts of Sindh.
KARACHI:
CNG stations will now remain closed for four days in week in all parts of Sindh including Karachi, reported Express News on Friday night.
According to the new schedule issued by the Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC), CNG closures will occur for two periods of 48 hours each, starting next week.
The president of Karachi Transport Ittehad Irshad Bukhari has condemned the decision.
"Considering the new prime minister was also a business man, the business community was expecting relief from the new government," said Bukhari. "Sadly, that has not happened."
Last month, the government had assured the CNG industry that it will seriously consider allocating gas quota to CNG stations and reduce load-shedding in Sindh and Punjab.
The government had also assured the All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) of assistance in realising the plan to import liquefied natural gas (LNG) in order to mitigate the energy crisis.
