A man was killed and four others sustained injuries when a rickshaw they were travelling in plunged into Swat River at Nallo area of Matta tehsil.



According to the Matta police, the rickshaw driver lost control of the vehicle on Gamon Bridge following which the vehicle fell into the river with eight passengers on board. Divers managed to rescue seven people, but they could not find Mian Gul Jan, whose body was later recovered from Bama Khela area.

Four other passengers, Noor Zada, Sajjad Ali, Fazal Qadeem and Hayat were taken to Tehsil Hospital Matta. Their condition was said to be stable. Gul Jan’s body was handed to his family members for burial.
