Sindh police reshuffle: Transfers made on merit, says Sharjeel
Says IG Sindh Police had requested Qaim Ali Shah to provide him with a team of officers with good repute.
ISLAMABAD/KARACHI:
Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inaam Memon on Thursday said transfer and postings in Sindh police were made on merit.
In a statement issued on Thursday, he said the Inspector General (IG) of Sindh Police had requested the Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah to provide him with a team of officers with good repute.
“And the officers have been deputed on the demand of the police,” the statement said.
He said some people were trying to make the whole process of the said transfers and postings controversial and politicising an administrative decision.
“Targeted operation in Karachi is unacceptable for certain elements and that is why they are raising objection to everything and criticising unnecessarily,” he said, adding that the Sindh government was not going to take dictation from anyone.
Sharjeel Memon said the targeted operation in Karachi was being carried out by the police and Rangers and that no particular political party was being made a target.
