Cold blood: Infant twins abandoned on roadside
Hospital administration says that the girls will be handed over to childless couples if their parents are not located.
SHEIKHUPURA:
A man dumped two baby girls on a road side in the old city area here on Thursday, police said.
They quoted some witnesses as saying that the man riding a motorcycle dropped the girls on the road and drove away.
They said some passers-by ran after him, but could not stop him. They then informed the police and the Rescue 1122.
The children were taken to the district headquarters hospital. Doctors at the hospital said that they were twins and apparently three to four days old. They said they were undernourished, but out of danger.
The hospital administration said that the girls would be handed over to childless couples if their parents are not located in a week.
Till then, they said, the girls would be kept at the hospital.
Police said they had registered a case and were looking for the parents.
