Court confirms QWP MPA’S bail

A Haripur court confirmed the bail of Qaumi Watan Party MPA Goher Nawaz Khan and five others accused of abetting an attempt on Pakistan Muslim Leaguge-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Zulfiqar Ahmed Khan’s life.



The MPA got transit bail from an Abbottabad court on August 27 and was granted bail before arrest on August 29 which was confirmed on Thursday by district judge Tariq Khan Yousafzai in Haripur.

No new dates were fixed for the hearing. Nawaz, Goher Rehman Khan, Hameedullah, Habibullah, Jehanzeb, Tayab Shah, Ibrahim Qureshi Advocate and Ishtiaq Haider were indicated in an FIR lodged on August 26 by the PML-N leader. According to Zulfiqar, the accused rammed a dumper truck into his car when he was returning home to Khalabat Township. The accused then fired a rocket at Zulfiqar, following with heavy gunfire. His guard and three bystanders were injured, two of whom later died.
