A polite attitude towards complainants is a must to successfully run the affairs of the police besides earning people’s trust.
Islamabad Police Inspector General (IG) Sikandar Hayat said this while addressing policemen at the “Police Darbar” here at the Police Line Headquarters on Thursday.
The IG asked the police officials to focus on solving public complaints promptly by taking citizens-friendly steps.
He advised them to be polite while dealing with complainants because this gesture on their part could soothe their pain to the maximum level.
Hayat urged all the cops to be graciousness with their seniors and subordinates.
He pledged that the policy of ‘zero tolerance’ against corruption in the police department would be pursued as it seriously undermined the overall performance of the force.
He asked the police personnel to be honest in their day-to-day affairs and exhibit sincerity to the country.
Hayat said that the Islamabad Police have rendered numerous sacrifices in the war on terror by foiling many sabotaged activities.
“We are proud of the martyrs, who have written a golden chapter by letting their blood in the line of duty,” the IG said.
He said that many projects have been initiated for the welfare of the policemen and they would be provided better accommodation as well as health facilities in the future. Hayat said that issues of duty timings and leaves were also being sorted out while a service facility to pick and drop police personnel had also been started. DIG (headquarters) Khalid Khattak, DIG (security) Jan Muhammad, AIG (operations) Sultan Azam Temuri, AIG Ashraf Zubair Siddiqui, SSP Muhammad Rizwan, Traffic SSP Dr Moeen Masood, SSP Sajid Kiani, SSP Malik Matloob and others were present.
