Ethical media practices: Collaboration between stakeholders stressed

The CEJ committee will continue its function in 2013-14, under the aegis of Rozan.

The technical advisory committee of the Coalition for Ethical Journalism (CEJ) stressed the need for increased collaboration between stakeholders to ensure ethical media practices in the country.


The technical committee met in Islamabad on Wednesday at the launch of the Coalition’s new secretariat, said a press release.

The CEJ committee will continue its function in 2013-14, under the aegis of Rozan, an NGO working on emotional health and violence against women and children and training of police and media.

The coalition remained instrumental in developing the code of ethics for media during elections 2013, and enjoys support from diverse stakeholders.

Rozan, as the CEJ secretariat, will serve as the focal point for a multitude of organisations working as part of the coalition.

Veteran journalist Muhammad Ziauddin, OSF Pakistan Media Programme Officer Asad Baig, journalist Adnan Rehmat and Rozan Media Programme Operations Manager Adeel Pathan highlighted the importance and key focus areas of the CEJ. Rozan MD Babar Bashir expressed commitment to the cause of media ethics.
