A storm water drain was also being built alongside the main highway and the bridge’s extension work on Sikhan Nullah is also under way.

Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Administrator Saqib Ahmed Soomro has said that phase-II of the Mehran Highway will be completed in November as all encroachments from the site have been removed.


He was visiting the highway’s site along with the director-general of KMC’s technical services, Niaz Soomro. The administrator said the second phase of this project involved the construction of a six-kilometre road from Labour Chowrangi to Port Qasim Road. A storm water drain was also being built alongside the main highway and the bridge’s extension work on Sikhan Nullah is also under way.
