Pollution: Oil companies must submit $1,300,000 to court tomorrow, says CJ
The oil companies were meant to spend this money to promote social welfare activities and had not done so.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Chaudhry has ordered oil companies to submit $1,300,000 in the Supreme Court tomorrow, Express News reported on Wednesday.
During a case in the Supreme Court regarding oil companies’ pollution, Additional Attorney General Shah Khawar said that the oil companies were meant to spend $1,300,000 promoting healthcare, education and other social welfare activities and had not done so.
Justice Jawad S Khawaja said that due to restrictions on oil companies, they must promote social welfare in any areas where they operate.
