Overseas Pakistanis: Govt working to improve employment
Efforts are afoot to improve the working of vocational training institutes, says secretary.
ISLAMABAD:
Secretary, Ministry of Overseas Pakistani and Human Resources Development, Munir Qureshi, addressed the problem of unemployment of the country and stated that the ministry is working exhaustively to reduce the unemployment rate while, speaking to the business community at the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI). He said that efforts are afoot to improve the working of vocational training institutes to increase the competitiveness of the talent present in the country and export well trained and skilled manpower abroad. He said insurance cover for Overseas Pakistanis is being enhanced from the current two years, to their first employment contract period and acknowledged their contribution through the remittances which accounted for $13.92 billion of government reciepts.
