LAHORE:

The representatives of around eighteen districts elected the office bearers of another Chess Association of Punjab (PCA), while rejecting the existing PCA.

The officials believe the current PCA did not conduct any chess tournaments and dragged Pakistan’s ranking from 62 to 103 in the World Olympiads.

The representatives elected Sarosh Ahmed as President with Amir Karim as General Secretary of the PCA in the presence of the board’s officials.

Talking to The Express Tribune, Karim said that the existing office bearers of PCA did nothing for the promotion of chess and that no concrete measures were being taken to flourish the sport in Pakistan.
