Ali Musa’s recovery: Gilani turns to JUI-S chief for help
Maulana Sami promises to do his best.
NOWSHERA:
Former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has sought help from Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Sami (JUI-S) chief Maulana Samiul Haq for the recovery of his kidnapped son, Ali Musa Gilani.
Gilani met Maulana Samiul Haq at his residence in Nowshera on Saturday and requested him to play a role in the safe return of Ali Musa who was kidnapped during election campaign in May.
Talking to the journalists after the meeting, Maulana Sami said that he has assured Gilani of his help in the recovery of Ali Musa.
The former PM told the media that aggression is not the solution of any problem. War cannot solve the problems of Pakistan, Afghanistan and India. The solution lies in negotiations, he added.
He said both Pakistan and Afghanistan are interlinked in terms of peace. If peace is restored in Afghanistan, this would definitely have a positive effect on Pakistan.
Gilani further said that Ali was not only the son of a former prime minister but also an election candidate, and with his abduction the whole electoral process would have stopped; however, he said, he did not allow that to happen.
Gilani said that Pakistan People’s Party would participate in the All-Parties Conference (APC) convened by the government and would try to suggest better options to restore peace in the region.
Maulana Sami, talking about the APC, said that JUI-S was not officially invited to the conference; he termed it ‘a meeting of parliamentary council’.
